So you want to know a little bit about me! First off my name is Anikka (prounounced like the golfer). I currently live in North Western Wisconsin but I grew up (and currently work in) North Eastern Minnesota. My name is a common name in Scandinavia. I was born April 21, in the lovely year of 1984. So that makes me almost 25. I graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College with a degree in Psychology.. I'm a fourth-generation Gustie and very proud of it.

In college I was a member of the Delta Phi Omega sorority. It's what's known as a "local chapter" meaning that we are the only school where we exist! Although the funny thing is there that now there is a national Delta Phi Omega but that's not us! We were founded in 1926 and they were in like 199? so we were first! Our "cause" was/is Breast Cancer. Each fall we raised money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure (formerly the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation). I'm was also in a national service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega [or the national website.]. I'm on the recruitment committee of the Relay For Life committee. Relay for life is an all night event to raise money for the American Cancer Society. APO does a lot of other events like Kids Fest, a breast cancer benefit concert and more! I also participated in Gustavus Youth Outreach (GYO) which is where we go to churches and do programing for youth gatherings/lock-ins. And I also volunteered in the daily chapel service on campus.

I love running . I ran track for 3 yrs (6th-7th, 9th) and Cross Country for 3 yrs (9th-11th). In 2003 and 2006 I ran the Gary Bjorkland Half-Marathon (13.1 miles) which is run on the second half of the Grandma's Marathon course. My time was an acceptable 2:28 or 2:26:43. The faster time is from when I actually crossed the start line until the finish line. The slower one is from when the gun when off until I crossed the finish.
