I started taking gymnastics when I was young in a gym/ballet/tap class that a lot of kids take when they're young. I stuck with gymnastics, though, and competed in a club gym until I started high school. I switched to the high school team which was not only less expensive (as in.. free!) but a lot more fun rather than the serious competitions with the club gym. I learned a lot on the high school team and the repertoire of things you could put in your routine was a much greater variety. After competing all four years of the Varsity team, I took a summer course just for fun. However, I've since stopped gymastics because the university that I go to has no tumbling team or anything close to it. It's too bad, because I very much enjoy it.
I do keep all kinds of metals and ribbons that I have from gymnastics.. they're in my room at home collecting dust at the moment, but it's always fun to go back and see the scores you got way back when. I'm pretty tall to be a gymnast.. at 5'7 I'm considered a giant by the gym world. Of course, at 19 years old, I'm also considered ready to retire! hehe.. well I'm not quite ready to throw in the towel yet but that whole flexibility factor just keeps going downhill. In case anyone's interested, my favorite (and best) events are the uneven parallel bars and the floor excercise. I'm not particularly fond of the vault, but even less fond of the beam. You try doing all sorts of leaps and jumps on a 4-inch wide beam and see if you can stay on. hehe.. well that's all for now.

A quick note about the graphics: I made the header myself, and I also made this one to the right, so if you'd like to use them, please get my permission first.
