Here you'll find some images created
from various photos using Adobe Photoshop. In addition to art conceived
within several series formats, there are some one-offs scattered in here
as well. Click on the thumbnail for full-scale image and enjoy! (Please
e-mail me
if you intend to use any art from this collection for another site...I'm
likely to say yes!)
[Eras Series] [Structure Series] [Illuminations
Series]
Images I haven't seen anywhere else...from
my own collection.
Nemesis of the Daleks
Well, this is the last one in this series; a bit of an anti-climax, but it was nice to feature the Daleks in one of these posters, especially since "Genesis" was named the all-time favorite program recently in "Dr. Who Magazine." | ? |
Have you ever wondered...?
I decided to work with black-and-white originals rather than the more commonly-seen color photos of Hartnell (which are few and far between) The TARDIS in the background is from "Revelation of the Daleks," however. | ? |
The Sum of His Memories
This image takes the format of the older ones below, but understates everything a little, even to the point of replacing the brash new steel McGann logo with a simple font. | ? |
Oi, Professor!
Highlighting the unresolved mysteries of the later McCoy era... | ? |
Exiled!
A nice, if modest, effort for Pertwee's time on bland, boring old Earth. Don't ask where I got the image of Earth...let's just say that it's indubitably accurate. | ? |
Dear Diary...
What would the Doctor's 500-year diary look like if we snuck a peek within? This image stands as a paean to Troughton's gentle, subtle, and highly original interpretation of the role of the Doctor. | ? |
The Doctor is on Trial
The Trial of a Time Lord still, despite its flaws, remains one of my favorite stories and I always look forward to a repeat viewing of episodes nine through twelve, "Terror of the Vervoids." Here's hoping that Terrance Dicks has had done with messing with the Trial's already-muddled continuity! | ? |
Time for a Jellybaby
Those who read the Virgin NAs and the new BBC books probably realize that the 7th and 8th Doctors have been put through more hell than all the rest put together. Although the monsters listed on this potential t-shirt or poster design span the entire life of the series, the sentiment is very much McGann. | ? |
?
An attempt that proved to me that one's reach can overextend one's grasp. I'm not too pleased with those of these finished so far, but the idea was good--to cobble together images taken from a particular Doctor's era against a blurred, somewhat distorted background of each Doctor himself. McGann's was particularily a challenge, since only one of his adventures has been televised! |
35th Anniversary Collage
Actually, this was one of my first efforts to really combine pictures creatively after doing some test covers (see below). The original version contained the quote, "I'm not like you. I'm a Time Lord...I walk in eternity." |
"Doctor Who--The Movie"
Had the BBC had its pants up when the movie came out, perhaps they would have inaugurated their new line of books with this cover rather than Paul McGann playing at being Hartnell... |
My recent efforts to produce a series met with various frustrations. It's difficult to find really good web jpeg's of Tom and Colin Baker and Davison. The images of the Bakers on these are from a series of BBC postcards which are now rarely found. Davison's did not scan well..it is from the well-done Season Twenty-One promotional photo with Tegan and Turlough. Troughton's shows the same pose as the cover of Virgin's "Second Doctor Handbook" but without the bizarre bulging of the eyes that Alistair Pearson mismanaged. Note that the backgrounds for Doctors #1, #4, and #6 were inspired by their credits sequences, while McCoy's background is directly taken from a screen capture. Of all these, Doctors #7 and #8 stand as my faves. |
An early effort to create a series to use within the Cyberguide at this site. The roundel background is the now-infamous website wallpaper. Doctors #2 and #5 turned out best. |
