Thanks for showing your beautiful work. I have aways afraid if figure models, although it is something I'd like to try. I just don't think the hands of a "geezer" are stable enough. (You should see me trying to place a rearview mirror in a model car. I fi
ure he's not going anywhere anyway, so he doesn't really need a rear view mirror.) Of course, the alternative to "geezerhood" is a less desirable path.
Keep up the good work. Any tips for a less than stable hand would be appreciated.

Dear Dr. Roc,
I very much enjoyed your site here, and I thought I'd just tell you so. Your body of work is very impressive, especially to someone as impatient as I am. Just today, for instance, I bought some modelling clay in an attempt to see if I have any talent fo
it, and rather than sculpting with it, I'm surfing the net. You are a strong, strong man.
I very much like the site's design, it's cool looking without taking a lot of time to load. The notes that accompany each photo are really a nice touch.
If you don't mind a bit of constructive criticism, I think that the photography leaves a little something to be desired, so I offer the following suggestions:
1. Lighting - If you can use two light sources, one illuminating the figure from ahead, and one filling out the background, it will help define the contours of the figure. Simple hardware store clamp lamps should do, with 100 watt bulbs. Try to avoid vi
ible shadows and your pix will look more like fancy "product-shot" photos. (Diffusing the fill light with a sheet of tracing paper helps even out the whole image.)
2.Composition - Well, you are limited by wanting to show the whole figure, but posing is key. Lower camera angles (Looking UP at the subject) often make the figure more impressive. For instance, I think the Spiderman photo looks WAY better than the Rogu
photo.
3.Film - Try Kodak Gold Max 800, every photo I take with this film comes out very crisp and detailed. It's more expensive, but it'll be worth it in the long run.
4.Backgrounds - the walls look kind of yellow behind the models. A nice gray or white card might be a nice background instead. Oaktag would work well. I'd suggest gray for most shots, as it will make the highlights look lighter, and the dark spots dark
r. White, on the other hand, can achieve a nice effect by bouncing the light onto the back of the model, highlighting the contours, especially on gloss-finished models.
Please, ignore me if my comments are out of line, or unwelcome. I just thought I'd pass along my two cents. The models look really good, but a little polish never hurts. Remember, a great website is like a great meal: Presentation is the key!
Thanks for your time,
Stephen R

Just dropped by to see your take on the Guillotinna kit (which I just purchased). Very nice! We seem to have similar tastes, since I have quite a few of the same kits as you (Devilman may be my next purchase). Are you doing ALL of these kits using drybrus

Loved your web page. Your models are excellent - masterful painting skills - I wished my Horizon pieces looked as good! Where do you find your kits? Really loved the "The Decapitator" piece. I would like to find that one myself.
Found your link in one of my "CultTVman" e-mail updates. Keep up the good work.
Had some problems with 3 thumbnail links. Guyver Zoanoid, Screaming Skull, & Cylena all opened multiple blanks pages, followed by Windows warnings concerning "too many pages open!" No big problem though. The models were worth it!

Nice statue of Doc Savage. Back when I was a young boy, I read the six Golden Press hardbacks.
Their depiction of Doc is a bit different than Bamas'. Since this was the first I read, it was
how I thought of Doc's appearance. Later, with
the paperbacks, I got used to Bama's. Your
statue really looks terrific for the Bama-Doc.

WONDERFUL GALLERY!!!! I myself have recently (last couple of months or so) gotten "back into modeling". My favorites are the old Aurora monster models, but actually I think I will enjoy doing any type of "figure" model. But the only drawback is that, l
ke you were in the past, I am just now starting as an adult modeler and know absolutely nothing about creating a "quality piece". Today I got a Wolverine, Hulk and Spiderman put out by Toy Biz. They are the "old style" plastic, but they are much cheaper
than the vinyls and resins. I won't be spending money on those until I at least gain some basic skills anyway.
Sorry about rambling, but I have bookmarked your page and will come back again.
Have a great day!!

Your batman is sold in the UK by Revell, and they give the colours as being grey, because it is based on the radar suit at the end of batman forever, and not on the suit that Kilmer wears for the rest of the film. Is this the case with the Horizon?

Liked what you did with your Doc model--did you change the expression on his face at all?--other pics I've seen of it looks like Doc is scared, but yours looks good.
I've been working off and on of a Doc from a "Generic Man" kit.
I'm glad you had a better time with the Crow kit than I did--mine (I also did it for a friend) was so warped it was a chore.
Nice web site--I look forward to checking all of it out.

Hi, Your page is killer! I especially like the comments that go with each model. Be sure and let the gremlins mailing list know when you make updates.

Good first stab at websiting. You've done more than I did with the Tourney page, then again, you seem to have an expert to give a little advice here and there. Wish I had. But mine was a good learning exp and yours will be too I'm sure.
Good luck in webworld......

Doc great job on the kits as well as the page. With a little more work it may just even rival your wife's page. Happy Modeling and keep up the great work. By the way DevilMan is the best!
