Character history: Gillian was a Starfleet Academy dropout, recruited by (then) Elizabeth McGreggor to serve as ship's counselor on the OWS Faneuil, though she also served aboard the OWS Benevolent under Captain Rachel se Ranor for a time. Although originally at daggers-drawn with fellow crew member Troy "Slider" Tyler (now Captain of the Omicron fighter wing), she and he just welcomed a second little "bundle of joy," she having married him just a short time before the birth of their first child. Her Bajoran heritage made itself known through the sneezing and swollen ankles of her pregnancy, so Gillian chose to show her true appearance. She is currently seeking to know more about her heritage, and incorporate it into herself.
\Reunited with Troy after his month long absence (he was trapped in Berlin, Germany in 1945- Omicron "Patriot Days" SIMM), he kept his promise to make an honest woman out of her (see Troy's Letter ) Being separate from him was one of the most traumatic experiences of her life- she had feared the the next time she was to see him was "in their own little world." It was only with the love and support of her brothers, Blaze and Sal, was she able to bear her own evacuation to DS9.
Gillian was transferred to serve on the OWS Carolina, as XO under Captain Eric Davidson. It was difficult for her to choose career over family, especially when discovering her pregnancy. This pregnancy was no different from the previous, with health concerns popping up. The baby went into cardiac distress and was given a replacement mechanical organ.
She had returned to Freedom to transport several new recruits back to the ship, and was spending a period of much cherished "family time" with Troy when a temporal vortex opened up in their bedroom, sucking them into a subspace "pocket." After several days in the slowly collapsing, freezing environment, they were rescued by a science team from Freedom, but not -their- Freedom.
They found themselves in a dimension where they had died fifteen years earlier in a shuttle accident, leaving Linde to be raised and eventually adopted by the Hunter family. David was born in this dimension. Upon his birth, the Tylers were placed aboard a shuttle, to protect them and attempt to draw temporal fire, so to speak. Linde, who had grown quite attached to Gillian and Troy, snuck aboard the shuttle, and was carried back to the past when Troy piloted the shuttle back through a temporal aperture. Baby Linde died during their absence.
