You pick up the book labeled "Information" and begin to thumb through the pages. What are they? Mini-flitters are relatives of the warrior unicorn. Mini-flitters are palm-sized unicorns with varying characteristics. Most mini-flitters have wings of some kind and almost always have hooves. Mini-flitters are not extremely bright and can only talk if they have been trained since childhood. Those who cannot talk communicate by chirps, squeaks, and other bird-like noises. Characteristics of the Mini-flitters All mini-flitters have equine-like heads and bodies. This is one stable characteristic that will never change unless SEVERE mutations occur. Mini-flitters with powers are extremely rare and are said to be extremely gifted. Below is a list of characteristics that can be observered. Behavior Mini-flitters thrive in forest areas, preferably where the weather isn't terribly hot but not snowing. They build small leaf nests in the trees to use as shelter, usually in the flock's favorite tree. Mini-flitters are strictly plant eaters except for the occasional insect snack. Mini-flitters are very curious by nature and love to travel and explore. It is suggested that mini-flitters be placed somewhere away from any creatures that eat small animals. A group of mini-flitters is known as a flock. A flock may consist of 1-3 stallions and as many as 9 mares. For every 3 mares, you may only have one stallion. There isn't a real ranking put on a mini-flitter when they join a flock unless the lead stallion (stallion who created the flock) decides to do so. Mini-flitters DO NOT pick one mate. They always make a flock. No mini-flitters will be allowed to clutch unless they are members of the same flock. Flocks are named in this way. Flock of ____ _____ The stallions usually create a name by where the flock is located and something they like. Since this flock resides in a grove with many trees, the flock has been named Flock of Whispering Grove. A flock is only considered a "working and accepting" flock when there is 3 mares and a stallion. You must have this many members in your flock before anyone may sign for a clutch. The flock must also be posted on the Flock List and okayed by me. When there is a breeding spot open, a pair of mini-flitters (the owner of the female SHOULD be the one to sign) from a flock sign the clutching book. I will check the book to see who has signed for a clutch. Clutchs range from 3 eggs to 6, the owners of the parents always recieving one egg. If both are owned by the same person, they may only recieve one egg. After the owners have chosen their eggs, the other eggs will be adopted out via the forms here. If no more than 3 eggs are laid, I will allow the third egg to be fostered out to the person of their choice. Back |
