CAPTAIN'S
LOG:The Joint RPG Newsletter of The Star Trek
Universe
Participants: The Star Trek
RPG community of Sol III and an editorial
archive responsible to all fleets, not limited to any one.
Our Purpose: Marshall
McLuhan writes, "As the unity of the modern world becomes
increasingly a technological rather than a social affair, the
techniques of the arts provide the most valuable means of insight
into the real direction of our own collective purposes." It
is because even in the 24th century these words have proven to be
true, as RPG organizations strive to have the better websites or
the most innovative programs, that we have set up this newsletter
by which we can concentrate on one of the most available
humanities available to man in both McLuhan's time and our
own--communication.
Our Mission: To promote
cooperation, communication and imagination through out the entire
Star Trek RPG community in an entertaining, innovative, and
informative way.
Our Mandate: The creation of
an email and on-line newsletter to accomplish these purposes.
This newsletter shall principally concentrate on the scenarios
and events of Star Trek and the aspects of Role Playing. Articles
shall include, but not be limited to:
Star Trek news regarding television,
movie or any other media projects including Voyager, Deep
Space Nine and the upcoming Star Trek 9: Insurrection.
Also information on "in-universe" situations
(ie. Dominion war aftermath, Federation News Network, etc.)
In depth investigation into Star Trek:
Articles, which provoke thought, regarding the Star Trek
legacy.
Role Playing Game News: A chance for
each Role Playing Game to submit information on current
events, promotions, etc (but not to advertise).
Role Playing Game Investigation:
Helpful observations and help columns regarding role
playing.
Ideas, proposals: Those concerning new
aspects of role playing, joint-missions, Star Trek, and
other related topics.
Those relating to situations which may
occur during ST Role Playing (ie. Tactics, weapons and other
technology articles).
Human resources/personnel articles
which may occasionally appear. (Not advertisements, but
articles relating to "teamwork",
"cooperation", that kind of thing. For instance, "Java help needed for Nowhere Fleet").
Fan Fiction features (on occasion)
Letters to the Editor
Editorials
Regular Issued Columns (Q&A,
reviews, etc.)
