I,ve said it before and I'll say it again: the book series is better than the cartoon. It elaborates on the subject of Protoculture, it enriches the characters backgrounds, and it fills in where the cartoons left off.
The author Jack McKinney is actually a pseudonym made up of two seperate authors. One was Brian Daley, writer of the Han Solo Trilogy. Unfortunately, he died in 1996. I don't know who the other one is, but my suspicions lead me to believe he is Carl Macek. If you think about it, it makes sense. At any rate, the book series can be found at The Random House Webpage.
