These are origami versions of the traditional Hina Matsuri (Doll Festival or Girls' day, traditionally celebrated March 3rd in Japan); together they are called the "Dairi-sama" (Honorable Noble Couple) or "Dairi-bina" (Lord and Lady dolls). On the left in blue and green is the Tono-sama (prince); on the right in purple and orange is the Ohime-sama (princess). Forgive me for planting such a huge image on this page, but I had to show these off. It was a pain in the neck to make these two little people, since all I had to go by were the diagrams in an origami book written entirely in Japanese, which I don't read. There are usually at least another 13 dolls to make a full Girls' Day display, plus numerous accessories to accompany the dolls.
This is my take on the 3 wise men, in colored pencil. The Phoenix carries frankincense (in the form of a branch of the plant), the Unicorn, myrrh, and the Dragon, gold (of course!) It's been about 5 or 6 years since I drew it originally, and if I were to re-draw it, I think I would switch the gifts of the unicorn and the phoenix, on account of the associations both the phoenix and myrrh have with regards to death and resurrection. Frankincense and Gold represent divinity and kingship, respectively.

This is a colored pencil image of a land dragon in an undersea world. Note all the little things going on in the background.

This is what Yin and Yang can look like in my mind. In case you wondered, the dragon is yang. Unfortunately, the original is too wide to scan in completely on the scanner available to me.

This is an illustration for a children's book I have yet to finish, about a sleepy bear and his tiny dragon friend.
I drew this little fellow, whom I call the "Surprised Dragon", in Paintbrush just for this page, and made it into a jpg in Paint Shop Pro 3. I am thinking of making it the main title design for the top of all of my pages. What do you think?
