On Magazine Reading

Other than books, I also read a number of magazines. The magazines I read are a varied bunch, ranging from current news to fiction to non-fiction.

But why read magazines? Why not stick to books? Well, there are several reason for this:

Magazines tend to have more timely articles compared to books. Most magazines are produced on a weekly or monthly basis and by reading them, I can keep myself up to date.
Due to publishing constraints, most book companies are usually wary of printing fiction by untested authors. Also, some authors may be willing to be more experimental with fiction published in magazines since it is less of a risk compared to a book contract.
Some magazines articles act as a bridge: they can provide information on topics that do not necessarily merit a book, but are currently required reading material.

So, after presenting some rationalisation on why I read magazines <hehe>, look through the magazines that I usually read, either in its traditional printed form or (partially) available on the internet.
