My Grandma My grandma, Didi, has always been there. She was there when my baby brother was born and she was there when we moved. I remember her being there when I was young, from 3-5 years old, I remember her being occasionally around. She was always a strong woman who has motives and goals. She lived in India, which made it harder to see her a lot, and she was in charge of her own little temple. I remember seeing her only two years ago and she still was strong. She's my only grandparent, so she's special in that way. I remember looking up to her. She was strict when I was young, but two years ago, she was so kind I was surprised. Then, it happened. We recieved a letter saying a tumor had appeared in her large intestine. The doctors said it had to be surgically removed. She didn't want to do it, I never really understood why she didn't want to, but I guess it was because she'd be sick afterwards and it would take time out of her work at the temple, but she had the surgery anyway. Everything was going smoothly until about a week ago when my family and I recieved an email that she had gone into the hospital for a severe case of the flu. Usually, people take the flu lightly. It's worse than a cold, yes, but that's about it. But, for babies and old people, it can be deadly. We where very worried and though my Dad tried to contact her, we couldn't get through until about three days later. We found out she had gotten over the flu, but was very weak and had been put into a nursing home. (I couldn't believe it. My strong, confident grandma in a nursing home! I was so worried!) She had broncial inflamation, where the breathing tubes had become swollen. My Dad said that, from what he'd heard, she was doing OK except for the bad fact that she was having some trouble breathing and her voice was high-pitched. (I mean "OK" as in she wasn't in critical condition) We can't go visit her 'cause she's so far away, but I hope that maybe we can visit her this summer. I hope so. This is a "get well" page for my grandma. Thank you for taking the time to visit it and you can send your "get well" wishes (if you want) by following the link at the bottom. Again, thank you so much!
Below is a counter (Well, of course it is!) Anyway, it's counting how many people have visited this page and read about my grandma. My goal is for that counter to go over 100, then the goal will extend to 150, then 200, ect. I'm trying to make it go as high as it can during the time my Grandma is in the hospital recovering.
