Helion Armaments currently offers Powered Armor, firearms, firearms accessories and limited amounts of Bio and Cyberware. We are more than willing to accept orders over the Matrix. To do so, please contact us at our official node at LTG# 206 (52-6678).
Well, now you know where to find Helion's official PR drek. In any
case, the rest of the catalog follows.
Canthros
WOW! Where do I get mine?
Mecha-man
I'm sure Helion would be willing to sell you a suit, if you have a
one and a half million nuyen laying around, can provide a valid SIN, and
can give a valid UCAS license for possession, use, and transport of
military-grade electronic powered armor.
Daytripper
Just bigger, badder, and nastier than the previous entry.
Daytripper
Helion is now proud to offer Cyberarmor customizable to your needs! Simply select components, size and the level of armored protection you need, and we'll do the rest. Note: We will need at least six weeks to fill you order.
Now this looks like fun. I bet I could take out half of the Renraku
Arcology or Aztechnology Pyramid with some of this.
WhoAmI@not.telling.com
One thing no-one else seems to have noticed is that these things don't
operate without batteries. When the batteries go down, the suit's worse than
useless.
Daytripper
How so?
Cinder
It's rather funny, if you're not the poor sot in the armor. When the
battery stops working, the myomer, hydraulic muscles, and servos stop working,
they stiffen up. Now imagine what happens when the guy loses cybernetic control,
too. Instant lawn sculpture.

Judging by the description, I'd say that this catalog is not the one
that Helion releases to the general public.
Daytripper
Supposedly this is their military/security catalog, though it's rather
suspiciously tailored to shadowfolk, it would appear.
Canthros
This thing's best asset is intimidation. Everybody's seen too many horrorsims where the victims get trashed with chainsaws, that plus the noise, it's good for crowd control. But make sure you know how to use it, especially if you actually plan to cut something. More chummers end up with cyberlimbs 'cause they didn't watch for stuff the 'saw couldn't go through, the saw bounces back and cuts something you don't want to cut, like yourself.
Short Fix
These enhancements allow for even more fun in armed combat! Some enhancements may not be compatible with others. Reasons will be described.
Monomolecular filament edge - the mono-edge allows you to slice through the armor of your enemies like never before! Monofilament is not compatible with either Taser-edge or Dikote enhancements.
Taser-edge - The Taser-edge enhancement turns your sword into a shock weapon as well! Attacks can produce the same effects as a taser. Taser-edge enhancement is not compatible with the mono-edge (the electrical charge tends to cause severe degradation of the monofilament).
This is most useful when the circuits are tuned to put out a greater
than normal shock-of course, this also depletes battery life, but it's better
than being dead.
Anonymous
Dikote - Now you, too, can cut vehicles into small pieces! Not compatible with mono-edge enhancement (the Dikote increases the thickness of the monofilament past its being effective).
Torch - Ever wanted the same look as your mage buddy's anchored flame aura spell? Well, now you can get that look without paying huge bucks! The Torch enhancement uses a hollow weapon to project flammable gas through holes, pushing the gas along the weapon's surface. As the gas exits, it is ignited, producing the same effect, at much lower prices! Torch-enhanced weapons may be Dikoted, but you should expect to have the weapon re-glazed a bit more often. This enhancement may be used to a limited extent with either of the other enhancements, but the Taser-edge enhancement cannot be used at the same time.
Now this thing is downright wiz! The only problem being that the standard
fuel pack doesn't carry enough fuel for more than a few seconds worth of
action, 'cause the fuel cylinder is designed to fit either on or in the weapon
without greatly increasing its size.
Cinder
Somehow, it figures that you'd like that.
WhoAmI@not.telling.com
Laser-edge - Now you too can have the same bonuses you get from your Laser-axe on the weapon of your choosing! Not compatible with Dikote or Mono-edge enhancements.
Chem-lacing - This modification laces the blade of an edged weapon with a poison, drug or other chemical. Common chemicals include Hyper, Mao, and Insecticides.
Insecticides? Why on earth would you lace a sword with insecticide?
WhoAmI@not.telling.com
Do you remember what happened in Chicago? As it turns out, the Bugs
are vulnerable to insecticide. So, if you plan on going anywhere near Chicago
or if you're even thinking about going into the CZ, this is a very good
investment.

Now I'm just a humble store owner, unfortunately my shop is located in the Redmonds, so occasionally some chiphead or other idiot decides to increase their income at the expense of mine. I found that no matter how high the chiphead, they pay attention when you point one of these at them. And if you need to shoot, you know you'll stop them. A good thin when store confines don't let you get a second shot.
Short Fix
I have one question: why? Lots of SMGs with the same RoFs are cheaper,
more concealable, almost as available and have far higher ammunition capacity.
And the recoil on this monster has gotta be nasty.
Daytripper
For one thing, your basic standard Uzi don't fire shotgun ammunition,
won't fire in semi-auto, and simply doesn't look near as intimidating when
you're staring down the business end. I know from experience: I found myself
staring down the wrong end on a run a little while back...a very nasty gun,
indeed. Besides, Dragon Breath ammo's only available for shotguns.
Cinder
You're a sick little pyromaniacal <<2 Mps deleted by SysOp>>
Sanitized for your protection. Please keep it clean, guys. You can
take that stuff over to the Rants board.
SysOp
Why?! Let's see here. Shotgun ammo...hhmmm. That's nice. All kinds
of recoil from two shotgun rounds goin' right through the small bones of
your wrist. I'll bet that feels good. Especially since the rounds have to
pack more punch to make up for the decreased barrel length. (And I thought
the rotary shotgun was nuts.) Next!
Intercessor
Does anyone else find this at all excessive?
U2C
Nope.
Cinder
Not me.
Daytripper
Why do you ask?

Interesting. But why not just use a standard Gas Vent?
WhoAmI@not.telling.com
Because it ties up your barrel mount. And because these things aren't
nearly as big, at least on the outside.
Daytripper
Odd. Useful, but still odd. I suppose this is for use by snipers and
their ilk?
Anonymous
Not really. It works by making the silencer a sliding mechanism, with
the normal slots or holes in the barrel for your gas vent. What you do is
slide your silencer over the holes and it traps gas and slows down the bullet.
If you want the recoil comp instead, you've got to keep the holes open.
Matador
Holy Frag! I want one! I want one! I think I wet my pants....
User Unknown
I figure this was intended as some sort of vehicular weapon, since
only a troll could possibly lift, let alone fire this thing. And User? Go
change your pants.
Anonymous
Yes, this is a nice gun...big, but nice. However I have had the
distinct misfortune of being on a run not long ago and this fool pulled one.
Unloaded the whole thing into the local sprawl. (You may have seen the trid)
Anyway, this fella draws, fires, and is promptly thrown off his keester by
an omay of mine. He has the gumption to get back up and try again. This time
the barrels got locked up when he fell, and the whole thing exploded in his
hands. I missed what happened to him as I was a bit in a rush, but I bet
it hurt.
Stark
Or you could just buy an Assault Cannon. It's about as (il)legal,
just as big, gets more ammo in a clip, is cheaper, and more easily
available.
Anonymous
But think of the intimidation!
User Unknown
User, just how old are you, anyway?
Anonymous
Now, just what the fraggin' heck is so special about this? I mean,
they've been making spurs in sets of three for years...
Cinder
Yes, but they were making short spurs that retracted along the bones
of your hand, theoretically, they could've squeezed four, maybe five of those
things in there. The ones Helion's got advertised here are special. Before,
you could mount two full-size spurs in you arm, 'cause you've only got two
long bones in your forearm. Helion put a third in by inserting a couple of
little brackets between the bones for the third spur to rest on.
Daytripper
I've gathered that these things have one drawback: you lose some of
the movement your arm used to be capable of, if you've had them put into
a meat arm. Apparently, the brackets stiffen up the joint between your forearm's
bones so that you can't rotate the arm as easily.
Canthros
I know of another problem you face besides restricted movement. That
third bracer in the middle is likely to slip rip and tear your arms bones
apart. Except one possible solution. Bone lacing with a little articulation
treatment. But otherwise you face the problem of having poor craftsmanship
causing severe lower arm trauma.
Stark
Nifty. And it might actually be useful to someone with a real job.
Anonymous
Not entirely. The only person I've ever seen that was truly able to
use these things was a cyberzombie with a specially programmed Move-by-Wire
setup. He was truly frightening, however.
Canthros
"The one and only"
What they don't tell you is that you've really got to mount these
cyber arms on a cyber torso. If you don't put 'em on a cyber chest, there's
a real good chance that the artificial arms, cyber shoulders and all, will
rip right out if you try lifting too mcuh with them.
Daytripper
You're kidding? It's actually harder on the mage-boys than the cyber
version? I thought Bioware was supposed to be more Essence friendly?
Daytripper
Yes, it is. It's not easy on the body in the cyber incarnation because
it requires bracing, nerve interfaces, and the actual arm. With the Bioware
version, you've got to add in a new shoulder, insert new muscles, run a new
set of nerves to control the muscles through the spine and up to the brain.
And then, there's the new arm. It winds up being more invasive.
Doc Nobody
And then you've got train the poor fool to use the thing.
