These men of my tribe were descendants of the Niall Noígiallach macEchach Mugmedóin ( Neil of the Nine Hostages) who was a direct descendant of Conn Cétchathach( Conn of the Hundred Battles) who founded the Uí Néill. It is these ancestors whose blood flows in my viens.

She is a child of the Northern Ui Neill and cares not for those of the south. Her father had been a supporter of the Northern Ui Neill all his life and tis the reason he is dead this day.

Patricks da had been by her fathers side most his life. The two were cousins and had worked hard to keep peace amongst the tribes near the Northern borders.

Their tribe had lived most thier lives near the Dal Fiatach coast. When politics and Brians quest to rule all of Ireland came to the north the one way to assure no trouble for him was to rid the stronger leaders of the upper Ui Neill. Therefore tribe was pitted against tribe and betrayal was everywhere. None escaped Malachy nor Brians need for power. Malachy, the offspring of a viking.

Mael Sechnaill as Malachy was known. Why did he let Brian have rule of them. The Leinstermen had been no friend to Sera's tribe ever since they had lost thier lands to the Ui Neill in the north. They had however aligned themselves with the Vikings. He was a royal son of the Ui Neill.

It was Malachy who instilled Sitric , son of Olaf and Gormflath, as ruler of Dublin. Then Malachy throws off his wife Gormflath and she brings Maelmora her brother to punish Malachy. She fails in her bid to wrest the high kingdom of the North from Malachy. Brian defeats her small army and then Brian marries Gormflath and Sitric regains control of Dublin.

Then Brian makes his move. He mets Malachy at Tara and issues him an ultimatum, surrender the high kingship to him or meet in open battle. Because Malachy had lost so much support in the North he could not garner enough support to fight Brian so he surrenders his kingship.
