*Poetry Pod*

For as long as I can remember, I've been a writer. Songs, poems, stories-it didn't matter what form I wrote in, as long as I was writing. Writing was always my special talent, my escape from the world. It was the one way I knew to express myself-no matter what I was feeling. I don't just write to write or because I'm good at it-which I am-I write because it's a part of me and not writing would be like killing myself. I would not be who I am without my writing and it will forever be a part of me, of who I am. On this page, I've typed up some of my favorite pieces and I hope that everyone who reads them can at least see what I mean when I say that this is my way of expression. Newest works can be found at the bottom of the list. (I do not post everything I write because some of it is obviously kind of personal). On another note, as of February 2003, there may not be much posting of poetry as I have found a new obsession with a novel I am working on. Possibly will generate a few short stories for the *Story Corner* page. Stay tuned to the Updates section for more info.

One day a weary traveler came across a small house where a wise man lived. He stopped inside and the wise man let him stay the night. They sat discussing the traveler's journey and the wise man said, "I was like you once. I did not complete my journey the first few times but I kept going. That is how I came to be who I am." The traveler looked at the wise man and asked, "Why push yourself if you have failed so many times?" The wise man thought and finally said, in a gentle voice, "I have been a traveler and I have succeeded. The only way to truly fail is to give up."
