WHO ARE YOU?

THE BASICS

Good question! I guess that's what you want to know, or you wouldn't be here! Well, for starters, my name is Jess. I was born in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A. on New Years Day, 1980. I now live in Ellijay, GA, about 90 miles north of Atlanta. I've lived here most of my life. I attended Gilmer High School, where I was involved in the marching band. I'm now 19 years old and I work at the local nursing home as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant). I hope to go to school soon to become a registered nurse. I'm married and I have no kids.

MUSIC AND ENTERTAIMENT

Music has always been a big influence in my life. I play the clarinet, trumpet, and a little guitar. I love classic rock. Some of my favorite bands are The Rolling Stones, The Who, Led Zepplin, Eric Clapton, Ozzy Osbourne, and Metallica (HEHE). As I guess you can tell, I'm a sci-fi/fantasy nut. Star Wars was the greatest film ever made, and Star Trek has defined our perception of the future. Voyager is my absolute favorite in the Star Trek world, with DS9 a very close second, but I watch them all. I also enjoy the X-Files, Babylon 5, and Seaquest. I love to read. The greatest books ever written are J.R.R. Tolkien's 'Lord of the Rings' series. I also love Orson Scott Card's 'Ender' series. Other favorite authors include: Douglas Adams, Michael Moorcock, and Roger Zelazny. I like to write myself, but I'm not near as good as these guys.

KARATE

My main thing is karate, United Karate to be specific. I started in 1994, earned my blue belt in 1995, and quit for three years. Well, now i'm back at it, 'kicking tail' as my mom says. I went back in early 1998, and I'm now a 1st gup red belt, working towards a United black belt. I love to compete, especially in fighting! I really don't know where I'd be without it. Maybe one day I'll go pro or become an instructor myself. My instructor is Ben Kiker, and he's the greatest. UNITED FOREVER!!!
