Fries Museum: Kings of the North Sea
On 26th december 1999, Ingma was on a field trip of culture to the "Fries Museum" in the Frisian Capital Leeuwarden.
The Fries Museum had a joint venture with several museums in Germany, Denmark, England and Norway to have a wandering display.
From 19 december 1999 the exhibition was in Leeuwarden and was called KINGS OF THE NORT SEA.
The theme was kingdoms and early chieftains in areas around the North sea from 250 B.C - 850 B.C.
The regions varied from Norway to Scotland.
The whole exhibition is a display of archeological objects that were found across the different sites that showed early developments of centers of power.
That means : Gold, weapons, money and jewelry.
The Poster downwards shows a richly decorated fibula found in Wijnaldum, a small village in the nort of the Netherlands (Friesland).
In one word, come and visit the exhibition while you can.
The Exhibition remains til march 5 2000.
The Fries Museum is easy accessible by car and not far from the railway station.
