Bruce Who? If you had asked me who Bruce Springsteen was three years ago that would have been my answer. Growing up in the country, he wasn't such a big deal here. When I ventured into cyberspace, I was fortunate enough to meet two Jersey girls and a New York gal who were very big Springsteen fans. I humored them when they would quote Bruce to me but remained skeptical about the whole thing. It wasn't until I planned a trip to New Jersey that I purchased my first cd. I bought "Born to Run" based upon the recomendation of my friend who would guide me through my journey to become a Bruce fan.
Listening on the 11 hour trip up to the Garden State, I was less than thrilled. My reply to the question, 'What did you think?' was "He's ok'. I'm not sure why but shortly after I returned home I purchased (still being guided by my friend) "Human Touch" and "Tunnel of Love". It was these two cds that coverted me. My eyes had been opened. Springsteen would now play constantly in the house and one cd would stand ready in the car. Over the past few months, I have added "Greetings from Asbury Park NJ", "Darkness on the Edge of Town", "Born in the USA", "Lucky Town", and "Nebraska" to my collection. Since "discovering" him, I have found comfort in his words during very difficult times in my life sometimes even through the tears.
