A
universe of images
Science fiction is
as extensive as our imagination itself
can be. There are no limits for visual
creation and, although iconography could
be resolved in some way, there is still a
whole universe of ideas left to discover.
That is in particular what I like best,
that creative freedom, not tied to any
real standard and at the same time so
close to us for all that it has of
technologic.
I have always thought that the most
correct future that can be imagined is
that one that is most weird and
incomprehensible to us, maybe
surrealistic, because what a person from
the past would think if he knew our
present? Probably that we are completely
mad.
If there is a way through which all this
madness can be expresed , it is the 3D
world. Performing visually a situation is
always hard, but in the case of Science
Fiction it's even more difficult, because
we have the necessity to make credible
something that doesn't exist, and never
did, and besides we have no reference of
it. This hermetism is minimised by the
photorealistic representation of
synthesis images, that lead us to a level
beyond 2
dimension.
