The Man Behind The Name
Hi. Well, my name is Eric Grubb. I was born in San Diego, California in 1975 and while I haven't lived in California since 1992. I've speant about 10 years worth of my life there though and I still call it home since that is were my heart is. I've lived a pretty interesting life, by mine and other peoples standards. It most likely comes from the fact that my father is a U.S. Marine, and I've lived in more countries then most people have cities. I've lived in California, North Carolina, Virginia, Israel, Egypt, Japan and Germany. Travel wise, I've been all over the World. I've seen alot of Europe, been to 48/50 (Only Alaska and North Dakota left) of the States, Hong Kong, China, Thailand, lots of Japan and smatterings of other places.
I graduated in May of 1999 from York College of PA, in York, PA with a degree in International Studies. It took me 5 years, partly because of stupidity on my part, and partly because I switched majors my sophmore year. It's a small school, but a good one. Looking back on it, I'm glad I went there and I can't even imagine how much different my life would be if I had gone to Florida State instead.
I'm a pretty mellow guy most of the time, not much really bothers me greatly. Sure I get annoyed easily, my family and friends can attest to that, but I hardly ever take anything personally, cause frankly, I don't really care most of the time. I'm happy being who and what I am, I don't want to be anything more.
My hobbies pretty much fall into the Sci-Fi area of things. Star Wars is my life, RPG's are close to it as well. I'm into Anime, have been since about 7th grade (1988), when it really was a subculture that very few people knew about, now it's everywhere. Music, misplaced metalhead I am, not to mention a child of the 80's. I love my metal, and I wish it would make a comeback, which is sorta has, since there is some good, new stuff starting to come out. I'm an avid reader as well. I love books, and I can waste away an entire day if I'm wrapped up in one. I'm also an online junky. I love the net and I play around on it just about everyday.
I'm not sure if I want to get into Religion, it tends to piss people off sometimes, one of the great evils you don't talk about, like Politics, but hey, I was basically a Poli Sci major, so what the hell. I'm Athiest. Not because I hate religion or nothing, but I just don't believe in God. I do see religion as important to society though, it gives people meaning for their lives and that's great. I just don't like it being pushed on me, or seeing it pushed on others. Just let people worship what they want, chances are it's not going to affect you any. Oh, and for anyone out there that believes that Athiests can't live moral lives, go shove it. I have my morals and I live by them, ask my friends, my family, just because I don't believe in any God, doesn't mean I'm evil, or bad, it's just what I believe, and if you can't deal with it, tough shit.
