PEACE CHALLENGE
PEACE PRAYER OF ST. FRANCIS
Lord, Make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
(Francis of Assisi, 1227 a.d.)
There is nothing as strong as gentleness
or as gentle as real strength
(Unknown)
If you're happy and you know it clap your hands,
stomp your feet, shout hooray.......
And don't forget to notify your face.
Whatever you give will find countless
ways back to you.
Time flies. Spend it with people
who mean the most to you.
When we do not find peace within ourselves
it is vain to seek for it elsewhere.
(La Rochefoucauld)
Avoid evil, and do good.
Seek peace and ensue it.
The true man of peace rests
in a peaceful mind.
(St. Bonaventure)
A man is in a state of peace when he renders
good for good, as far as it lies in him to do,
and wishes harm to no one.
(Bernard of Clairvaux)
We become the means of peace when we are
willing to learn, to teach, to give,
and especially to forgive.
(Francis Vaughan, Roger Walsh)
