High Hopes...
is what the sign hung near the house, left by previous owners, reads. They may have come in feeling that way, but they sure didn't leave the same. Some of them didn't even make it out of the house alive.
This page is dedicated to telling the story of the house located at 112 Ocean Avenue in Amityville, Long Island. I read the book The Amityville Horror just recently and saw the movie before, but that was years ago and I can't remember the details. This is a true story, and to my knowledge most of the names are real, and the facts are accurate. Some names have been changed to protect the innocent, of course, but whatever information on this page is as true as it can get.
Before I start (and I will start soon) I'd like to say that pretty much all the information I got to make this page was taken from the book The Amityville Horror by Jay Anson. He did the work, so he gets the credit. I made this page because after reading the book, I wanted more information about the house, and I couldn't find ANY relevant web pages. So you're all stuck with just this until I get more information or someone bigger and better comes along.
Oh and by the way, the pictures of the house above are what the Amityville house looks like. I don't know if it's THE Amityville house or the one from the movie (might be the same, I'll check the filming location of the movie when I rent it), but that IS what it looks like. It looks just like the little illustration of it in my book. Pretty creepy, huh? Some people say those two windows near the top look like eyes, and that it watches all who come near it...

Story Section
Here, you can send in your own experiences with ghosts and the supernatural. This should be pretty self-explanatory, but before you post, please take note of a few things:
Kudos to all who contribute!
***Note*** The stories can't be read yet. I'm going to wait until I actually collect some, and then I'll post them all on a story page accessable from here.
