The Essence of Love

Where a Wayward Phile Can Dream

In this room you will find stories that will warm your heart and challenge your mind about the complexities of love. I hope that within these stories and yourself, you will find some answers to the questions that you ask. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the read.

Hold Your Fire (PG-13)
is my newest fan fiction piece, the awaited sequel to Once Upon A Time. What happens when the fire doesn't die, and you refuse to let the flame burn out, despite the odds?

Once Upon A Time (PG-13)
is the first part of my first two part romance. Mulder and Scully ponder their feelings, one in a padded room, the other on an airplane, and realize that despite time, distance, and insanity, love may truly survive. Let me know what you think.

As Time Goes By (PG) by Susan Shinkai
is the newest romance addition to my small collection. You've seen Casablanca, now read the (very good) X-Files adaptation. Murder, passion, music, it's all here. This is a must read.

The Three Swords (PG-13)
is the first of my romance stories, which deal with dreams. This one is my favorite of the ones I've written, but let me know what you think. Mulder leaves Scully after the end, but while at first despair seems to reign, a little mystical experience comes to their aid.

In the Arms of the Angel (PG to PG-13)thank you Sarah McLachlan for the inspiration for the title,
is the second dream story, in which Mulder believes that he is turning into a horrible monster, and leaves Scully so that he won't harm her, but she has other ideas in mind. This one can get a little angsty, but there's some humor in there to lighten the mood.

And I Love You (PG)
is my newest story, and I'm really proud of it. No sex, no drugs, just a little rock and roll. Mulder and Scully spend a late night relating, after some self-reflecting. Hope all of you like it.

My Best Friend's Wedding, by D.Nguyen,
is a story I think any good shipper would like. It is a parody on the movie, but it's tastefully done and has (I think) a better ending. I hope that all of you like it as well. Mulder calls up Scully with some news that shocks, and. . .well, you'll see.

Sin Apuntamiento, (PG) by Noelle Lundgren
is a brand new story that I recieved on the M&S mailing list. It's simple, and sweet, and meaningful all wrapped into one. As she said in her summary, Mulder stops overanalyzing the obvious.

Wallpaper, (PG-13) by Annie Sewell-Jennings
is a great, but chilling story, which I felt was absolutely wonderful. I hope my page is worthy of it. In it, Scully attempts to redeem herself to Mulder, but it will never be what you think. That I can promise you.

2008 (Rated by Story) by Mystphile
is a great series that deals with Mulder and Scully meeting each other years after the final closing of the X-Files. MystPhile has effectively retained the characters of Mulder and Scully, even when they are far removed from their normal setting and time. Posted now is Part 1, but Part 2 will soon follow, as will any future stories. Enjoy these stories, they're worth it.
