JOE DANTE
"Joe Dante with his claim to fame - a Gremlin"
Joe Dante was born on November 28 1946 in Morristown N.J in the USA. He began in the film industry as Promotion expert editing trailers for Roger Corman's New World Studios. H edited his first film for Corman in 1973 it was called The Arena. Dante directed his first film in 1978, it was Piranha which was a Jaws spoof.
The next film from Dante was the Howling, which is believed by many to be the greatest Werewolf film ever made. A huge fan of The Howling is none other than Steven Spielberg who sought out Dante to work with him on many film ventures which still continue to this day. Dante's most famous film would have to be Gremlins. After 5 years away from motion pictures Joe Dante came back with Small Soldiers.
