• Development and review of Commissioning and maintenance procedures and formats for transformers and reactors
• Interpretation of results of Dissolved Gas Analysis of transformer and reactor oil

• Played pivotal role in setting up two Insulating Oil testing Laboratories at Hyderabad and at Durgapur
• Creation and maintenance of Database for Dissolved gas Analysis Data. An user-friendly software has been developed by self for this.
• Failure Analysis of Transformer and reactors
• Review of technical specifications for Transformers and reactors
• Decides mandatory spares requirement with new reactors and transformers

During this period I have served National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd. (NTPC) till 16.8.91. Thereafter transferred along with transmission assets of NTPC to POWERGRID without any change in job responsibilities. The responsibilities were:

1. Inter Operational Control Centre(IOCC) at Hyderabad
2. Regional O&M co-ordination at Regional Head Quarter

• Commissioning of telemetry system between Ramagundam Super thermal Power Project of NTPC and IOCC Hyderabad. The system was commissioned over PLCC network of NTPC.
• Preparation of specification for the NTPC part of a scheme of modernisation of Load Despatch Centres in Southern Region undertaken and coordinated by Central Electric Authority along with the consultant M/S EDF, International France.

• Provide guidance to different Substation sites with respect of major operation and maintenance problems with active involvement whenever situation so demanded.
• Monitoring the preventive maintenance schedule and rescheduling. A system was devised by self.
• Help the grid operators in restoration of NTPC/POWERGRID lines during grid disturbances.
• Preparation of maintenance schedule, Annual Maintenance Plans and monitoring of the same.
• development of expert system for MIS.
• Generation of various MIS reports
• Analysis of major grid disturbances in Southern Region and pinpointing the cause by analysing the Disturbance recorder output, Relay operations and Event logger outputs. The analysis led to the valuable suggestions to prevent such occurrences.
• computerisation in entire Southern Region. Developed various applications for the above functions. These applications are still in use by Southern Region
