Some Answers to Some Questions!
1) What, exactly, is the Futurist group?
The Futurist Group, or TFG, is a group that was originally formed in March of 1988 by individuals with similar interests and desires. The goal was to provide a forum for organized, structured activity that benefitted the individual, and the group as a whole.
2) What kind of activities does TFG provide?
Why, everything under the sun! We lean towards Sci-fi and fantasy-related activities, but we are certainly not limited by it! We go to conventions, ball games, and Museums. Frequently, we meet at a member's house, and spend time playing board and card games before the meetings. And nowadays, we have a lot of sports such as golf and football working it's way into the schedule. The activities are chosen with the input of the members, so you have a voice as to what is done.
3) Is there a Membership fee, or an initiation?
Heavens, no! We are not a cult, for goodness sake! There is no cost to belong to TFG. And as far as initiation into the group, well POOF! You're in! The fact that you are even here reading this means that you are automatically granted Associate Member status in TFG. You wouldn't be here reading this otherwise. (Of course, you may want to let us know that you want to take advantage of this, and contact us...)
4) Well, that was Easy. Now What?
Well, that's up to you. By virtue of being here, as far as we're concerned you already belong. And, if you contacted us, then our information packet is on its way. Come to whatever activities interest you. Participate in the forums as you see fit. It's that simple. Now, if you would like more responsibilities, well, just let us know! We'll be happy to give it to you, right up to the Presidency of the entire Club, if you like! I highly recommend reading our by-laws before you take over, however. Just let us know! We'll get you set on-track.
