Goodbye!

Well, I posted this on the BBS a few days ago, and I haven't yet got around to passing this along so here goes.

I've decided to leave STCCG. For various reasons, I've just found that it's no longer one of my priorities. With the advent of post-secondary education, I've found that I don't have the time to commit to the game any longer, and this is a very time intensive game. As well, I've found that there are simply other things where I feel I'd prefer to be spending my time. And the game has seemed to have lost some of it's "zing" for me; in a way I almost feel like I've done everything that I wanted. For me, Decipher has begun to hit the "critical mass" of cards, where there are too many cards now for me to keep track of. And they all seem to be doing the same thing, it's almost like they've hit the same stage that SWCCG has hit (a long while ago for SWCCG.) I've stopped watching the show a while ago, so perhaps that is a contributing factor. I just don't have the same need to play in the Star Trek universe any longer I guess. *shrug*

I think that pretty much covers my reasons for deciding to leave. I'm certainly not saying that I won't come back, because if I leave and find that I miss it too much, then of course I'll get back on board. :-) But for the moment, I want to explore other avenues in life. I must say that the people I've met both on and offline have been absolutely wonderful, and I'd love to keep up contact with many of them in a friendly manner outside of cards. In a way I'm sorry to be going, but I can't feel sorry because this is something I want to do. I haven't played since the regionals, and I don't feel a burning need to either. And who knows, maybe this is only a temporary sabbatical. :-)

If there is anything on this site that you want to keep (archaic as it may be) then I would recommend saving it to disk right away, as I'm not sure if this site will be staying up in it's present form. I've enjoyed hosting a webpage and it certainly seems that there have been some people out there who've enjoyed using it. That's probably the highest compliment I could have been paid, thank you to everyone who actually sees this.

See you out there!

Brian
