Internet has its flavors as is discussed in pros and cons. I think one of the most amazing advantages is e-mail.
Trough E-mail you can talk to your friends daily (even dough they might be far away), synchronize job tasks, exchange information, read news etc.
Personally I found out a whole New World on discussing all kind of subjects. It's like a cafe open 24 hours a day with the improvement that you can postpone your answers until your busy schedule leaves you some spare time.
In the recent years I discussed a lot through Internet (sometimes about job and schoolwork) but mainly about philosophy...
