A Perennial Garden in April

The forget-me-nots have spread like mad in our garden. This year they have created a cloud of blue flowers all along our rock wall. and garden bed. These flowers were here when we moved into our house and we have let a few go to seed every year. After the flowers have finished blooming, we do cut back the ones in the front of the beds as they can get quite tall.

The brilliant purple of the Money Plant or Honesty (Lunaria annua)  is my favorite color I think.
In this picture you can see a Money Plant surrounded by forget-me-nots. In the top center of the picture you can see the fan-like foliage of a lupin which will probably bloom in May. The tall spikey leaves are irises and tiger lilies just poking up their leaves.
