GNU/Linux

Updated 6/24/05

While in the process of installing GNU/Linux , I took very detailed notes which I have converted into a personal HOW-TO. You may even consider it a Slackware -HOWTO. When I helped my brother install Redhat 6.0, the installation was so easy that I thought it would be the end of HOW-TOs. Then I tried to install it on my Uncle's older PC and realized that GNU/Linux still had its problems and it's too early to write off Slackware or any of the other distributions.

My installation guide may have value to you in terms of extensive software development instructions, so you my want to check it out.
There are 3 ways you can see it:
  1. Download the nroff file installnf Updated 6/24/05.
  2. Download the groff file installgr Updated 6/24/05.
  3. Download the txt file install.txt .(This one is the most readable.) Updated 6/24/05
You can convert the groff file to postscript by typing in:

groff -ms -t -e installgr | cat > installgr.ps

You can convert the nroff file to a man page like format by typing in:

tbl installnf | eqn -Tascii | nroff -ms | cat > installnf.nf
