Materialistic World and The World of Reality

“It is a materialistic world!”

This remark or reflection is made arising from various situations or experience.

• · Fed up with the way people around chasing after money as prime. This may lead to the behavior or conclusion that “I do not want to pursue money like the rest. I will choose a simple life” ·
• · “I need to compete as fiercely as the rest, otherwise I will loose out!”

In either case, there could be negative consequences.

In the former, the person may later regret when the reality of life catches up….....

In the later case, the person becomes slave to the money-God. …………..

To avoid going into either extremes, a popular thinking is “we need to delicately balance the two extremes”. Will this practical thinking help? Is “balancing” the problem or focus at all? Is this practical thinking a Creative Thinking that can guide better behavior or action? What is really the prevailing mental models on “money” that lead to such messy outcome and what should be the appropriate mental models?
