Building an Altar

Constructing an altar is a very important part of Wicca. Your altar can be as ornate as a marble table or as simple as a piece of plywood atop a few cinder-blocks. Whatever feels right to you. My altar was very inexpensive yet it is very attractive. Every time I look at it I am reminded of my love for the craft.

Setting Up Your Altar

Depending upon what tradition you follow, setting up the altar can vary quite a bit. The position in which you place your tools is really not all that important as long as their is some set ideal. Personally I have set up my altar with things sacred to the Goddess on the left below my Goddess Candle,things sacred to both the Goddess and the God in the middle, and things sacred to the God on the right below my God candle. I represent the Goddess, the ALL, and the God, with Tarot cards. Some people use statues others use seashells or stones. Whatever feels right to you is what you should go with. As long as you have everything in its on defined place, the exact arrangement really doesnt matter. Again go with your intuitions your subconscious knows what is right for you. Don't fight it!!
