WitchCraft has been very misunderstood for ages. Christianity has painted a lot of pictures that totally misrepresent the beliefs and practices of Witches and other pagans. First and foremost WitchCraft is not the practice of Worshipping the "DEVIL." In fact Witches do not even believe in the devil. WitchCraft along with most other pagan religions, are "Earth Religions." Which means that they believe in protecting and preserving the earth. Also the seasons, moon phases, and crops of the earth play a big role in pagan religions. Secondly Witches do not run around hexing and laying curses on people. Witches believe in 2 laws governing their behavior. The first law is a law contained in the last line of a poem called "The Wiccan Rede" which states "An ye harm none, do what ye will." Which means do what you please as long as it will not harm others and more importantly "yourself." The other is what is called the three fold law, which says that what ever you send out will come back to you 3 times. Thus if you do good deeds they will come back to you times 3 as good and vice versa. So as you can see by harming others in any way would only cause a karmic backlash as such in turn harming the witch much more than he or she could ever hope to harm another. Last of all Witches do not use any type of brain-washing techniques. First of all this would be controlling others in turn harming and causing karmic backlash but mostly because Witches do not proselytize. Witches do not go out and try to convince you to become Wiccan. Witches respect all other religions for that is your personal way of getting to the divine. That is why so little is known about the craft because we do not go out and picket and hand out flyers. If one wishes to become a witch he or she must seek us out. WitchCraft is an ancient and beautiful religion with the truth now starting to imerge maybe there is hope that one day we can all live in religous harmony without fear of the possible return of the "Burning Times" and other similiar holocosts!
