![]() What's In A Name?
Saint Mary Magdalene, for whom the confrérie is named, was among the most popular saints in fifteenth-century Europe, if not the most popular. The Confrérie Sainte-Madeleine does not, however, have any religious affiliation. Who Are We? While the activities of the Confrérie are currently oriented toward the Society for Creative Anachronism, we are not limited to SCA members. We would love to hear from others interested in fifteenth-century studies and living history. What Do We Do? The Confrérie Sainte-Madeleine is intended to be a resource and forum for fifteenth-century European studies in general. To that end, this web page will be developed further as a source of information and news. We would especially like to feature articles on various aspects of fifteenth-century living history -- both historical investigations and practical commentary on actually being a re-enactor or living history interpreter. The formation of a high-authenticity encampment (or encampments, depending on interests and geographical area) is also among our goals, but we need to hear from you if that is to become a reality.
