For Those Who Are Bored

"I'm bored."

"Yeh, there's noth'n to do around this town."

Sound familiar? Well, I once asked a group of high school students what they like to do. That gave us a list to start with. So that is how this page got started. If you have some ideas you would like to add to the list, let us know. In this list we have tried to pick those activities which can be done with little or no money, done at home, with just one or a few people (no team required), and mostly done without lots of special equipment. For a list of more activities that involve more people, need a special location or equipment, etc, see the note below the chart about our Recreation page.

It is true that some acitvities can't be done in every town. That is why we have tried to include as many differnt things as possible in the list. If you are alive and still breathing on your own, you are sure to find some things in this list that you will enjoy.

Learning / playing an intrument  Singing  Cooking
 Crossword puzzles  Board games  Sewing
Paint ball wars  Coin collecting  Reading
 Stamp collecting  Photography  Swimming
 Babysitting  Dance  Golf
 Archery  Basketball  Drawing
Ping pong  Pool / Billiards  Painting
 Fishing  Ice skating  Sculpture
Roller skating (or blading)  Skateboarding  Tennis

If you have a responsible adult to coach and guide you, target shooting is another good one.

See, there really is something to do besides talking on the phone and watching TV!

Hey, the Recreation page is getting put together now. On the Recreation page you will find some fo the same activities listed above but you will also find more outdoor activities, activities that require special locations, special equipment, a team, etc. Check it out.

Or maybe you want to go to or rent a good movie. But how do you know what is decent and worth your time and money? Well, here are a couple of sources of movie reviews: Family Movie Reviews, Movies Reviews from Yahoo.

We would like to add more activities to this list. Please send us a note about what you like to do. Email to the_encourager.geo@yahoo.com.
