Stonehenge has some amazing solar and lunar alignments.
The main alignment of Stonehenge takes place during the
midsummer solstice (June 21). The sun rises directly above the
heel stone that is placed in the avenue.
The station stones also make amazing alignments. When
connnected they make a rectangle. The long sides of the rectangle
are in-line the moon rising and setting when it is furthest from
earth. The short sides line up with the midsummer sunrise and
midwinter sunset. The short and long sides form a perfect right
angle. This is the only place on Earth where this is possible.
