The People
The specific group responsible for the making of Stonehenge is
unknown. They were hunter-gatherers who came from Europe to
England by crossing a land bridge around 10000 BC.
The land bridge was severed around 8000 BC.
When farming came around in the fourth millenium, their
populations grew and they formed organized farming communities.
There were many invasions of Britain during this period, so the
background of these people is varied. The Druids now use
Stonehenge for religious purposes. Most of their background has
been fabricated, but they still have a traditional celebration at
Stonehenge during the mid-summer's solstice.
Location
Stonehenge is located in southern England on the Salisbury
Plain.
