I'm a music lover. I enjoy all kinds of music including country and western, pop, rock, classical, big band, blues, and celtic. I personally play the guitar, but I've slipped back to beginner status since I left my guitar back in Oklahoma. I'm self-taught and learned to play fingerpick style, so I normally play classical or folk, but sometimes I get a wild hair up my ass and try to play Hendrix. I've listed below some of my favorites.
I picked up that "Beatles-1" album a couple weeks ago and I have to admit it was remastered by a, well, master. Hehe. The songs sound cleaner than I've ever heard them and my favorite tracks are probably "Paperback Writer" and "I Feel Fine". If you like classic rock you'd love it.
This symphony was written well after Beethoven went deaf. Many of the music critics of the era labeled it as "presumptuous" and "pompous". But today, everybody has heard the Ninth and those critics are dead and forgotten.
Jim Morrison's ode to the darker side of human nature.
The greatest guitar player that ever lived at his peak.
This album was inspired by the death of the band's leader Syd Barrett, who went insane and died in a nuthouse. Was on the "Top 100" bestselling albums list for over 20 years.
The best bluegrass...Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs.
Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys- RHINO RECORDS
Bob WIlls is the greatest "fiddle" player ever. Bob Wills is my dad's favorite musician. I listened to Bob Wills for over 15 years while living with my dad and am probably myself an authority on his music..but my DAD is the expert on Bob Wills. Bob Wills was a great musician who excelled in WESTERN SWING and he paid his bandmembers more bucks than any other band leader of the day (including Glenn Miller) and it SHOWS. If you like RAW FOLK/Western MUSIC you'd like Bob WIlls. My fave Bob Wills tune is probably BIG BEAVER...followed closely by MY WINDOW FACES THE SOUTH.I have an excellent blues riff which I used to open this page with but I decided was too long.
