George Allemonta Britton

George Allemonta (Monte) Britton was born 25 Sept 1839 in Franklin County, Alabama to William Britton and Sarah M Gates. He was a member of L Company, 4th Alabama (Roddey's) Cavalry Regt.

He served with the 4th AL until the time that he was paroled in May 0f 1865 at Pond Springs, Alabama.

Monte Britton married Mary Frances Ezzell on 11 Nov 1869 in Franklin County, AL. Mary Frances was the daughter of Robert Taylor Ezzell and Nancy Ann Hunnicutt.
