Joseph Julius Dunn was the son of George W. Dunn and Jane C. Mullen. Jane C. Mullen's father's name was John Mullen(1810) and her mother's name was Sarah(1814). They had a total of 13 children, the dates of birth and death vary on where the information is gathered. The following is a list of thier children....They had two other infants that died at an early age not listed here.........

George W. Dunn was the son of Issac (Jerry) Dunn and Mary (Polly) Reagon (Riggin). They were imigrants from Fredericksburg, Virginia. They moved to North Carolina and finally traveled in covered wagons to Hamilton County in Indiana, settling just east of Boxleytown. Records do not indicate when they arrived in Hamilton County but there is a land entry on 3-15-1836. The 1850 Census(microfilm) records him as being age 53, a farmer. and real estate valued at $1000. According to reports from members of the family, he was also a Methodist minister. The Dunbar School, east of Boxleytown was named for him. Issac and Mary are buried in the Boxley cemetery.(monuments have been destroyed)

Matilda Ellen Knapp was the daughter of John William Knapp (1840s) and Nancy S. Hartman (1846). John came home from the Civil War with a wound to the hip and walked with a cane. He married Nancy Hartman, she was a widow of the war being married before to Daniel Brunson who died in battle. Her father was Emanual Hartman (1815) and her mother was Lucy Russell. John's father was Frederick Knapp and Elizabeth was his mother's name, she died at sea when they were imigrating from Wittenburgh, Germany. The children were......
