Reflections From Brigid The Mirror
Aloneness:
You are never truly alone
The voice within is always accessible...
Listen and you will hear it
and remember that
silence is sometimes an answer.

Approval:
During times of momentous changes
Others may not be ready to acknowledge
the growth they are witnessing in you.
If you do not receive support from those around you
seek guidance and support from within.
Often this is the only guidance and support available.

Assertiveness:
We become our own worst enemy
when we refuse to recognize that
we can change any situation
simply by taking control of ourselves.
This may require
giving up the familiar
for the unknown.

Conformity:
Do not strive to be a conformist.
Discover your own true value
and trust your own way.
Not everyone will agree with your thinking
but one of the greatest joys in life
is to machete through the road less traveled.

Counseling:
Do not allow the burdens of others
to become your burdens
for this robs them of
their own karmic lessons.
Giving guidance and counsel to another
does not mean accepting their burdens as your own.
Discriminate the difference.

Decision Making:
It is better to make a decision and correct it should it prove wrong
than to remain passive and be immobile.
It is not important in the long run what happens to us,
what is important and what will be remembered
is how we react to what happens.

Emotion:
The moment we succumb to the energy of emotion
we become an effect rather than a cause
Emotion is different from feeling:
emotion is passive; feeling is aggressive.
Emotion creates chaos; feeling nurtures truth.
Do not let your emotions rule or determine your feelings.

Empowerment:
No one can have power over us
unless we empower them to do so.
Never allow others to tell you how you feel.

Freedom:
Being free means knowing exactly who you are,
What you have to offer the universe
and what you want in return.
Cherish your right to freedom,
guard it vehemently.
It is worth whatever price you must pay.

Hope:
Dare to dream and feel the profound energy
created by hope.
Use that energy to manifest your true desire.

Humility:
Humility is a natural effect of life's trials,
but humility does not supersede
trust and belief in one's intuition.
Listen to know...
hear to find the truth within.

Interaction:
Relying on people and cooperating with people
are two very different things.
Learn to cooperate with others
yet rely only upon yourself.
Ultimately you will be your own best friend
or your own worst enemy.
Be kind in your assessment of yourself
for it is better to have a friend
than an enemy.

Listening:
Learn to listen to what remains unsaid
so that you will know the truth
that lies beyond the spoken word.

Manifestation:
The most difficult task in manifestation,
even more difficult than faith and belief,
is knowing what you really want.

Objectivity:
Observe all things objectively.
Play life as a active participant rather than an audience.
Be a cause rather than an effect.

Obstacles:
Obstacles are part of the natural flow of life.
This is the balance.
Look upon obstacles as challenges,
a means to practice your true worth.
opt for reaction
opt for action
then move on.

Original Thought:
It is far easier to think along the lines
of what others present and perceive as truth
than to search for our own way.
We must be willing to seek
our own truths and
live with what we find.

Progress:
Each day we must follow a course of actions
that brings us closer
even if only in the smallest steps
to our life goals.

Responsibility:
We hold ourselves back
by refusing to take responsibility for ourselves
and blaming others for our actions.
Accept responsibility for your actions.
Stop blaming others and
you will learn much more about yourself.
Remember, however, to take responsibility only
for that for which you are truly responsible.

Sacrifice:
Learn to give up that which
is no longer necessary for growth
so that you might gain
that which you truly need.
Be willing to relinquish
the people and things
that hold you back.
Make room for those
who help you move forward
and who value and believe in you.

Self Trust:
UnswayIng trust in ones intuition
is the greatest tool upon which you can rely.
The time has long passed
when you doubt what you hear in your soul.

Stagnation:
Life stagnates only if we permit it to do so.
Change requires transformation, sometimes sacrifice.
Be willing to give in order to gain.

Success:
Success requires equal doses of
Faith, self-discipline and awareness.
Discrimination is the ability
to discern one thing from another.
It requires knowing what one needs
and not settling for anything less.
This necessitates seeing clearly
and choosing slowly.
Discrimination is necessary
to attain our greatest potential.

Taking Chances:
When you stop loving and clinging to the familiar,
wonders await you.
The most difficult task you will ever undertake
begins with the smallest steps.
Even if you only venture forth slowly,
you are at least moving.
You could be on the most perfect spiritual path
and be run over if you stand still.
Continual momentum from within and/or without
is what is required.

Tolerance:
Allow for the opinions of others
even if they are unwilling
or unable
to allow for yours.
The best way to teach someone about your path
is to truly live it.
To be heard loudly and clearly,
speak softly.
Self-awareness begins with self observations.

Unconscious Manifestation:
We unerringly create for ourselves
what we need and want and deserve
on the most basic, unseen level.
Sometimes, the outer world seems too strong
for our inner desire to overcome.
