| Comments: All of my life i remember my father talking about his great grandfather being killed in the civil war.His name was Stubblebean and he lived in Tennessee. As the story goes Thomas S.Stubblebean was a small lad living with his sister and father. One day Tho as father came in and said he must go to war. Thomas saw his father jump the fence of the farm and wave bye and thats the last time Thomas every seen his father. He was killed not sure were.or where he was laid to rest. Thomas was taken in by friends livi g in South Dakota. Then later moved to Noble Ok. where he married and had my grandmother Clara Stufflebean my father is still alive is 83 i would like to give him a hand on his greatgrandfather So any information i would thank you. | Comments: My husband's gg-grandfather, Tristam Patton, served in Chapman's Brigade with Gen. Jackson. He suffered an injury, but not fatal. It is said that he was told to turn his cartridge belt aroung and that protected him from being seriously wounded. The belt i still in the family. This is a wonderful site. Thanks. Karen Bailey. |
