	Introduction Hello, my full name is Thong Yip Chin, Melvin but my friends used to call me Melvin. I am a Malaysian Chinese. In my opinion, this home page looks pretty simple but I am not sure how you see it. Anyway, I hope you will enjoy surfing on it. As for my personal life, there is nothing much to tell you because I am leading a humble life thus far. I was born in 1975 and my birth place is Kuala Lumpur. I am the only child in my family. Although I am alone and have no siblings, I have no complaints with my life. I am very fortunate to have an understanding parents, relatives as well as good friends around me to give the necessary support and encouragement in whatever I do. Educational Background I received my early education at the age of 6 in a local kindergarten near my living place in 1981. My formal education started at the age of 7 where my parents enrolled me to a primary school by the name of Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Setapak, K. Lumpur. After completing my primary level in 1987, I was then transferred to another school the following year. This was where my secondary education started and the school that I enrolled in was Victoria Institution or better known as VI. After completing my secondary level in 1992, I continued my tertiary education in Tunku Abdul Rahman College, K. Lumpur, Malaysia. Upon completing my certificate course in Computer Studies in 1995, I went on to pursue my Advanced Diploma in Computer Studies at Informatics College, K. Lumpur. I graduated from the Advanced Diploma course in December 1996. My final milestone in my education life was to pursue a degree course and I am glad to complete my Bachelor of Information Technology majoring in Computer Software Development with the University of Southern Queensland, Australia in July 1999. Currently, I am working as a Systems Engineer in a local company dealing with telecommunication solutions. Sport Activities During my school days I was very active in sports. I represented my school, Victoria Institution in badminton. Our badminton team secured a runners-up placing in the district competition for the Under-18 category in 1992 and subsequently we were qualified to play in the state level badminton competition representing our district. I also used to play football for clubs in the VIAFA (Victoria Institution Amature Football Association) League. When I was studying in Tunku Abdul Rahman College, I represented my course in the Inter-School football competition. Besides badminton and football, I also involved myself in athletics at school level competitions. My favourite events were 100m, 200m, 4x100m, 4x400m and jevelin. I have won many medals and trophies through athletics and now they are nicely placed in my medal showcase. Other sports that I enjoy playing are basketball, table tennis and bowling. Nowadays, I play sports only as my past time activities. Hobbies I enjoy listening to music during my free time. I love sentimental songs. Apart from that, I also like slow and soothing instrumental music. I feel peaceful and it helps me to relax my mind whenever I listen to the music. Occassionally, I spend my free time on movies. My favourite types of movies are action-pack movie as well as horror movie. However, I do watch romance movie if it is worth watching. Animation movie is gaining popularity now and a few of the movies such as Lion King, Prince of Egypt, A Bug's Life and Antz have attracted my attention. I also like to draw. Figure drawing is my favourite type of drawings. I used to draw a lot of human figures during my secondary school days. Once, I even thought of taking up Art and Design as my course of study after completing my secondary education. However, due to certain unforeseen circumstances, I have to change the idea. Perhaps I was not destined for this kind of professions. Now, I treat drawing as a hobby. Recently, I found a new interest on web graphics designing. I have tried on designing backgrounds and buttons and they are really nice to play around. Web graphics designing is just the beginning stage for me and I still have a lot of things to learn especially the finer points of designing a nice graphic.
