I met Holly at CBC and we were married on August 14, 1976. In 1981, we became foster parents and in July of that year, 3 year old Gypsy and 1 year old Candy came to live with us. Their biological sisters, Cathy and Erika came to live with us in 1986 when they were 3 and 2. What began as a six month commitment ended up being six years and ended in our adoption of all four girls. Eventually, I hope to have that story in the writing section of my home page. God surprised us in 1990 with the birth of J.D. By the time he was born, we did not think we could have children. God enjoys doing unexpected things!
Holly and I now have seven grandchildren with one more on the way!
From the time I was 9 or 10, all I wanted to do was write. I dreamed of becoming a great author with the "All-American Novel." At Miami University, I was told I could not write. Trying to figure out what to do next, I discovered my love for preaching and transferred to bible college.
After graduation, I served the Pomeroy Church of Christ in Pomeroy, Ohio for two years. In 1979, we moved to Hoopeston, Illinois to become the preacher at the Chestnut St. Church of Christ. We moved to Champaign, Illinois in 1984 and began working with the Windsor Rd. Christian Church as the Associate Minister in Christian Education. After the birth of our son J.D. in 1990, we moved to preach at the Erlanger Church of Christ in Erlanger, Kentucky.
Since 1990, I have had several articles published in the Christian Standard, The Lookout, and the Restoration Herald.
In March of 2000 we moved back to Illinois where I now serve as the preaching minister of Central Christian Church in Charleston.
I look forward to writing and sharing with anyone who will take the time to read my ramblings.
