The Turtle Degree is:

· A FUN degree
· A Fund-raiser for your Lodge, or for a charity your Lodge supports
· Easy to start as a fun means of raising a few bucks
· NOT an official Masonic Degree!
· Probably it was not even originated by a Mason - even so, it has been sort of adopted by many Lodges as a fun way to make a few dollars for a good cause.

The Turtle Degree consists of:

· Communication and explanation of the password
· Posing of 4 riddles - which, if you have a dirty mind may seem a little “dirty”, but of course, we as Masons will always have clean and pure thoughts. This is part of the fun of the degree - watching your supossedly clean-thinking Brothers squirm!
· Proclaiming the new Turtle, and requesting that they recruit new Turtles - which they will!
