Terry Scott Taylor
These pages represent my efforts to bring more focus onto the works of a recording artist who has been very influential
in my life—a gifted man named Terry Scott Taylor.
While there are other fine pages devoted to his work, there are no others
quite like this one. I've chosen to place the emphasis on the lyrics of
his music, as they are usually a rich source of imagery, insight, and literary
references. His work has had a great influence on my Christian walk, sparking
countless hours of contemplation, revelation, and lots of laughter as well.
Included here are works from his bands (Daniel Amos, the Swirling Eddies,
and the Lost Dogs), his solo works, and songs he has written for other
artists.

Literary References in the Songs
Following is a listing of songs that include references to the works of some of Terry's favorite prose and poetry writers. I have them grouped by writer. If you can help me document others, please let me know.

Page History:
4/16/00: Thanks to Jon McDonald for taking the time to inspect the website and point out several pages that needed
to be updated. This kind of help is always appreciated.
4/16/00: Added a new page for the "Bibleland" album.
4/9/00: Added a new page for the "Daniel Amos" album. That leaves only "Bibleland" and "Zoom Daddy" to complete, then I can begin on the Lost Dogs albums.
2/5/00: Added two Cristina Rosetti references that Fred found. See the "A Briefing for the Ascent" page. I had always
suspected that she would turn up in Terry's lyrics, but Fred was way ahead of me. Thanks for the help.
1/29/00: After several months without any new guestbook entries, I investigated and found the system was not working. It has now been fixed (I think), so you can leave your thoughts there for others once again.
12/11/99: Much overdue appreciation to Fred Sanders for tracking down many references I missed.
12/11/99: Thanks to Brian Patterson for recognizing a Charles Bukowski reference in Traps, Ensnares.
08/15/99: Added a search engine to the site. You will be impressed with how well it tracks down songs when you enter a few words. In fact, you'll love it.
07/11/99: Added a "Songs of the Heart" page, and it has plenty of definitions for those nostalgic terms Terry used.
06/19/99: Added "Glimpses of Grace," "World Famous Hits," and "Berry Vest" pages. Rearranged album icons into two groups: DA and Other. Added icons for upcoming Lost Dogs pages.

02/23/99: Added a Guestbook. (See links above) Since this page has had nearly 2000 hits in the last few months, I would like to hear from some (actually all!) of the people who frequent it. I realize that the internet is a spectator's sport, but sometimes it really helps to encourage those who are creating the content. Let me know what you like and what you want to see more of.
