Surface Flotilla
HMS GRAFTON is a is a type 23 Duke Class frigate which entered service in 1997 and her primary role is an anti-submarine frigate.
Fitted with a wide suite of weapons to enhance her capability she is powered by the unique diesel electric and gas turbine combination. She is capable of near silent running.
HMS GRAFTON is fitted with the latest computer assisted sonar together with advanced sensor and communications equipment.
With a standard displacement of 3,500 tonnes she is 133 metres long, has a beam of 16.2 metres and a complement of 185.
Armament includes Vertical launch Sea Wolf and Harpoon missile systems, 114mm gun, towed array sonar, Sting Ray torpedoes and Lynx or EH101 helicopter.
