Chronos Apollonios' "Home On Olympus"
EVP: ELECTRONIC VOICE PHENOMENA: (see also ITC: Instrumental Transcommunication; called "Electronecromancy" by
Chronos Apollonios... there are other similiar names at large) Electronic communication with the spirits of
the deceased. Supposing you were a doctor and you had the power
to restore the dead to life (see Palingenics, or Star Trek
episode so-and-so), it might be nice of you to ask their
permission first...
A watchpoint: Given many of the communications themselves, one
might wonder if this is one of those kinds of communication that
has a bad habit of telling you what you expect to hear (see Time
Cameras, Magic Mirrors, etc.)
On the other hand, with tools expected to turn a mental reality
into a physical one, like a Thyrseus-wand for example, that can
be a plus instead of a drawback.
At least one likes to hope that as any Trekkie knows, they're
easier to beam up if you can get a lock on their communicator
signal, even if you do have to get out transport buffers. (On
"Star Trek" these tend to look like magickal crystal wands. Hmmm...)
And who knows, even that device Thomas Edison invented for
talking with spirits (looks like the first record players quite
alot) might even work. (Maybe Tesla invented that for him as a
work-for-hire, which may also be the fact of our friend, the
incandescent lightbulb.)
Or... I dunno, you could be the first Ghostbuster suggest to a ghost
to stop throwing the silerware around and start throwing around
some atoms to make themselves a new earthly body. Sounds more
productive to me...maybe it's just a tuning problem, or other simple, readily soluble one, that they
didn't rematerialize?...
Having seen the "Star Trek: The Next Generation" episode, "The Next Phase", I
don't know but what a spirit isn't a fractally infinite number of
physical bodies which are phase-cloaked. Outright material on
seances and temporarily materializations like Von Shrenck-
Notzing's book shows eerie precocious parallels between aspects
of spirits appearing and aspects of fractional quantum particles
used in the TV show to control or reverse the invisibility and
intangibility of phase-cloaked persons.
Further glimpses at scholarly works on spirit manifestation may
yeild valuable solutions to problems of materializing worldly
goods.
One of these days, of course, I'm going to sit down with this page and give it the treatment it truly deserves, so please check back every now and then.
