You be a Sunny “U”, I’ll be an “O”
Together we will laugh the night away
At witty things that we may say or show
Whose wit may not survive the light of day,
I’ll be a Sonny “O”, you be a “U”
Together we will sing away the time
Augmenting sound and rhythm on our cue
Resolving in loud cheers when we make rhymes,
Your “U”, my “O” combine to form this “Our”
Together we will drink a solemn toast
And so we help to sanctify the hour
Deflecting curses from our lofty boasts,
Until we’re blinded by the rising light
That signals ---- Go, silent in the night.
