Please Read !!!
This is the web page that crams as much information
as possible into the smallest amount of space as possible, and in the most
coherent format... as possible; and it's ALL about US History. From Columbus
"sailing the ocean blue" to Reagan's "Reagonomics," you'll find almost
all you need to know. It's formated into a timeline that makes history
easier to follow, easier to remember, and thus easier to learn.
First, some history about this webpage. I made it while studying for the
U.S. History Advanced Placement test in 1999. I found that there is a lot
of information to know, and too many pages of notes to flip through, so
I organized all of my notes into a timeline with brief discriptions, divided
the timeline into Presidential administrations, and included some side
notes, historiography, and general info. It all came down to 500 years
of US history put into 19 Microsoft Word pages. You can download the Microsoft
Word file below, it is formatted differently, but contains the same information.
Plus it's easier to read because it's in black and white. I believe that
computers with Microsoft Word 1995 version or earlier will not be able
to view the file because of the way I formatted it.
Anyway, I hope you will find the information useful. Please don't memorize
the dates, 98% of them should be correct, but there are some that I couldn't
find a definate date for; especially the New Deal programs. And please
excuse the spelling errors that the computer didn't catch. If you find
any mistakes feel free to email me about them. The page lacks information
that couldn't be put into a timeline, such as social movements and important
people; but there are a couple great links below that will fill the gaps
Unless someone else provides the information, I will not be updating this
page since I rather be making history than writing about it. Special thanks
to Mrs. Chapman, my US History teacher, for teaching and providing me with
the information throughout the year.
Wish
you all the best. Now click on the left and begin.
