Are Japanese relating with Jews?
Generally speaking, however, non-Jewish people could call him/herself as a Jew, according to Paul. Paul said that Jewishness is nothing but faithful high calling from God. If you accept faith and his commandments, you could be a Messianic Jew. Unless you want to claim land or money to Israel government, you do not have to be a biological Jew to be a Messianic Jew. Nevertheless, biological Jews may be treated differently by God according to the Bible simply because God promised to do so to Abraham. But, again, not all of Jews are saved; some of them may be not. So the fact that a person is a Jew does not mean guarantee for salvation or better life or better intelligence. Distance from God to Jews is not essentially different from that to non-Jews. The Torah simply said the descendents of Abraham is different.
Recently, I heard of a lot of studies to prove that Japanese were the descendants of the ten tribes. Studies were most extensively done by Japanese Shinto believer, and by some of patronizing Japanese. Some people do these researches simply to glorify themselves using the "blessing for Jews." Japanese Messianic believers concern that these knowledge may be misused for self-exaltation by nationalists. However, it would be unignorable if it is true.
Why some Japanese started believe that they might be Jews? Here are the reasons.
(1) They started realizing that there were a lot of similarities in Ancient Japanese culture to Ancient Jewish culture.
(2) There were some historical evidences suggesting ancient Japan-Jew relationship.
(3) There were suggestions that ancient Japanese nation consisted of ten tribes speaking middle eastern language.
(4) Japanese language inherited some Hebrewic words.
(5) The Bible code refers the fate of Japan in conjunction of Erez Israel. Moreover, the Bible code clearly recorded the name of ancient prehistoric Japanese nation "Yamatai" with strong relation with Jacobs sons in Genesis 42 and 43.
As I am a humble Japanese Messianic Jew, I would like to make a clear statement about this issue. It is our understanding that Japanese people will not exalted even if the above historical hypothesis ( i.e, Japanese are decendents of the ten tribes) is proven correct. I do not care if it is not proven so, but on the other hand, Japanese people should be more humble if it is proven to be so instead of being exalted. Any Japanese who are going to exalt themselve due to this, and any non-Japanese who discourage and ridicule Japanese to continue the serious search for answer for this issue may not be blessed.
